His Story

Ian was born on February 17, 1989 to Scott and Annie Stowe, the first of 2 sons. Growing up playing for FC Magic in Richmond, Ian quickly made a name for himself on the Virginia soccer scene.

As a senior at Clover Hill High School Ian finished the campaign with 10 goals and 12 assists, helping his Clover Hill team to a 13-3-1 record en route to earned Academic All-Region and All-District honors. More accolades were to follow as Ian was also named Dominion District and Virginia Central Regional Player of the Year, and Richmond-Times Dispatch Metro co-Player of the Year. In each of his last 3 seasons at CHHS, Ian was a First-Team All-Dominion District selection and in his last 2 years was a First-Team All-Metro player, a Virginia Group AAA All-State honoree, a First-Team All-Central Region selection, and was named team MVP. Ian was also selected to play on the VCCL Select Dallas Cup Team and for the Richmond Kickers in the Super Y League and in 2007 was selected to the Super Y ODP National Camp. As an encore to his decorated high school soccer career, Ian featured in the Virginia State All-Star game, competing for the east team. More than just a decorated athlete, Ian was also a DECA member, a part of the National Honor Society, and president of the Spanish Club.

In the fall of 2006 Ian signed a letter of intent to play soccer for The College of William & Mary.  In 4 years with the Tribe played in 75 matches, in which he scored 2 goals and contributed 5 assists.  He helped lead the Tribe to 2 NCAA Tournament berths, CAA regular season and tournament championships, and capped off his senior year with an appearance in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

Ian graduated with a degree in History from The College of William & Mary.  Along the way, he established many lifelong friendships with his affable personality.

Ian’s achievements throughout his life are a testament to his courage and determination.
